Try Chronoid for Mac →How to build your daily time block schedule
- Set the hours available in your day. Start with a realistic finish time.
- List tasks in the order you want to do them. Estimate each task in minutes.
- Add breaks between tasks. Leave some time unplanned for interruptions.
- Check the total, adjust anything that does not fit, and copy the schedule.
For example, 90 minutes of deep work, 30 minutes of email, and 60 minutes on a client project need 3 hours of task time. Two 15-minute breaks bring the plan to 3 hours 30 minutes: 09:00 to 12:30.
Use the free Pomodoro timer to work through a block, or the hours calculator to check a shift. For focus sessions with breaks, use the Pomodoro calculator. For calendar-based options, read our time blocking apps guide.
Time blocking planner FAQ
What is time blocking?
Time blocking means giving each task a set start and end time. Instead of working from a to-do list alone, you reserve part of your day for each task, including breaks.
How do I use this free time blocking planner?
Set your day’s start and end time, enter your tasks and their durations, and choose a break length. The planner schedules tasks in list order and updates instantly. Use Move up to change the order, then copy your schedule.
Is this planner free and do I need an account?
The planner is free. No account, email address, download, or payment is needed. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet, or computer.
Does the planner save or upload my tasks?
Your tasks stay in the current browser tab. They are not uploaded or saved after a refresh. Copy your schedule before closing the page or reloading it.
What happens if my tasks do not fit into my day?
The planner shows how much you have overbooked and keeps every task visible. Shorten a task, remove one, reduce your breaks, or extend your day. It adds breaks only between tasks, never after the last task.
Does this connect to my calendar or track my time?
This tool creates a plan for one day. It does not connect to a calendar, send reminders, or track activity. Chronoid is a separate Mac app that automatically tracks time spent in apps and websites, so you can review how you used your day.
