Frequently asked questions

How many Pomodoros do I need?

Divide your estimated task time by the focus-session length and round up. For example, 120 minutes of work needs five sessions at 25 minutes each. The final session is shortened to 20 minutes.

How are short and long breaks counted?

A break is added between focus sessions. After every N sessions, a long break replaces the short break. There is no break after the final session. You can set either break length to zero.

How long does two hours of work take with breaks?

With 25-minute focus sessions, 5-minute short breaks, and a 15-minute long break every four sessions, 120 minutes of work takes 150 minutes in total. Starting at 09:00 gives an estimated finish of 11:30.

Does this calculator start a timer?
