Task Integrations
Chronoid can connect to the task tool you already work in — ClickUp, monday.com, or Linear. Once connected, your tasks appear as suggestions while you type a time entry, so an entry is attached to real work instead of a line of text you retyped. You can also send your tracked time back the other way, into the tool your team looks at.
Task integrations are part of the full version. You can connect all three tools at once; each one is configured separately.
What a Connection Gives You
- Task autocomplete. Start typing a time entry title and Chronoid suggests matching tasks, items, or issues from the lists, boards, or teams you chose.
- A real link, not just a title. Picking a suggestion stores a link to that task on the entry. Typing freely leaves the entry unlinked, exactly as before.
- Optional time push. Send tracked time back into ClickUp, monday.com, or Linear. This is off until you turn it on.
- Local storage. Your API token lives in the macOS Keychain and the imported task list is cached in Chronoid’s local database.
Connecting a Tool
- Open Settings → Integrations and pick ClickUp, monday.com, or Linear.
- Create a personal API token in that tool and paste it into the Connection field. The setup steps for each tool are on its own page below, and the Open … settings button takes you straight to the right screen.
- Click Test Connection. Chronoid verifies the token and shows the workspace it reached.
Tokens are stored in your Mac’s Keychain, never in a plain settings file, and never sent anywhere except the tool they belong to.
Choosing What to Import
Chronoid never imports everything — a full workspace would flood your suggestions with tasks you will never track against. Under Import, pick the lists, boards, or teams you actually work from, then narrow further with:
- Only tasks assigned to me — skip everything on someone else’s plate.
- Include completed tasks — off by default, so finished work stays out of your suggestions.
- Only tasks updated in the last — 7, 30, or 90 days, or any time.
Import now runs a sync immediately. Once at least one account is connected and enabled, Chronoid also syncs in the background about every 15 minutes, and shortly after your Mac wakes so a laptop opened in the morning is not working from yesterday’s list. The pane shows how many tasks are cached and when the last import finished.
A full reconcile — the pass that also removes tasks that disappeared upstream — runs at most once a day. Everything in between is incremental, so a big workspace costs very little.
Linking a Time Entry to a Task
Task links are created in one place: the title field of a time entry.
- Start a manual time entry and begin typing in What did you work on?
- Matching tasks appear beneath the field, each showing the tool it came from.
- Pick one. Chronoid fills in the title and attaches the link to that task.
To leave an entry unlinked, just keep typing and ignore the suggestions. Nothing is linked implicitly.
Sending Your Time Back
Under Send time back, turning on Send my tracked time to … starts pushing your time into that tool. Chronoid asks you to confirm first, because this writes into a shared workspace your teammates can see.
Two rules hold for every tool:
- Only entries you have linked to a task are ever sent. Unlinked time never leaves your Mac.
- Chronoid updates what it already sent rather than adding a second copy. Editing tracked time updates the existing record upstream.
What actually lands differs per tool, because their APIs differ:

Disconnecting
Disconnect removes the API token from your Keychain and clears the cached tasks for that tool. Time entries you already linked keep their link, so reconnecting later restores them.
Privacy
- Nothing is sent to a task tool until you turn on Send my tracked time.
- Only linked entries are sent — never your full timeline, window titles, or browsing history.
- Tokens are kept in the macOS Keychain and removed when you disconnect.
- Chronoid’s diagnostic report records whether an integration is connected and whether its last sync succeeded, but never the token itself.
