Timeline View

Visualize your day as a color-coded 24-hour timeline showing every tracked activity.

Timeline View

The Timeline View shows your entire day as a vertical, color-coded bar. Each block represents an activity, colored by its assigned project. It gives you an instant visual overview of how your time was spent.

Reading the Timeline

  • Vertical axis — Represents time, flowing from top (start of day) to bottom (end of day)
  • Hour labels — Displayed along the left edge for quick reference
  • Colored blocks — Each block is an activity, colored to match its project
  • Gray blocks — Unassigned activities that haven't been categorized yet
  • Block height — Taller blocks mean longer activities

The timeline makes it easy to spot patterns — long stretches of focused work, frequent context switches, or gaps in your day.

Hover for Details

Hover over any block to see a popover with:

  • App name — The application used
  • Window title — What you were working on
  • Project — The assigned project (if any)
  • Start and end time — Exact timestamps
  • Duration — How long the activity lasted

Zoom In and Out

Use the magnifying glass controls to adjust the timeline scale:

  • Zoom in (+) — Expand the timeline to see short activities more clearly
  • Zoom out (-) — Compress the timeline to see the full day at a glance

Zooming is useful when you have many short activities clustered together. Zoom in to distinguish them, then zoom out to return to the big picture.

Use the date navigation controls to move between days:

  • Arrow buttons — Step forward or backward one day at a time
  • Date picker — Jump to a specific date
  • Today indicator — A red line marks the current time on today's timeline

The current-time indicator updates in real time, so you can see your day filling in as you work.

Tips

  • Zoom in for short activities — If you switch apps frequently, zoom in to see each activity clearly
  • Zoom out for the big picture — Use a wide zoom level to review your full day in one view
  • Look for gray blocks — Unassigned activities are opportunities to set up auto-assignment rules
  • Check for gaps — Gaps in the timeline might indicate idle time or activities on the ignore list
